Some old wood building with old bathroom tub

Dear Amit. You are right we do have an older wooden building. Also your tub was harvest gold. Your room and tub was immaculate. You arrived at 9:30 am on a Saturday morning, wanting to check in. However the guests in that room had not checked out. Check in is 3 pm and check out is 11 am. You were then instructed to check back with us around noon to see if your room was ready. You arrived with a party of 3, when your reservation stated 2, at 11:45 am. We accommodated your party into the room over 3 hours early. You had stated that you had left your home at 2:30 am and driven through the night to arrive early and were tired. Late in the afternoon after resting, you asked where or what there was to do in our area. Jason provided you with several options. Later in the evening you arrived back and told him that River Fire was a good choice. The next morning your party came up for breakfast. You departed around 11:30, without asking for a late check out. Lastly there was no mention of t someone in your room spilling tea or coffee all down the wall. As I have stated in other reviews. Please refer to our website, pictures and descriptions.

Wonderful low-key property with a staff that made feel welcome from the first encounter. Clean, cozy room and very nice self-serve breakfast. We’d stay again next time we are in the area.

Thank you for your review. We are in a remote location, and this is a safe area. As owners, we live on the premises, and take guests safety and ours seriously.

The staff was helpful and friendly and the property was clean but this was a retro early 1970s bathroom in olive green (that’s not the bad part) with a shower head from Ramada and the shower walls were a poorly done handy dandy repair. The ceiling is a drop ceiling that’s warped with old and tired bedding and carpet: the beds were hard and every sound from the second floor could be heard as well as the road noise of every vehicle. I felt like I was in an old basement made up with shoddy workmanship to be a room. The tv has something that requires your smart phone or iPad to project to the tv; no cable. There’s no way this old motel room is worth over $200 per night. We left after the first night; we had two nights reserved and paid for. We did not get all of our money back but we didn’t care. We had absolutely zero sleep. The door is a hollow core interior door without a peep hole or deadbolt. The bottom of the door is unevenly cut and the door frame is off kilter: This is a place for college age boys who want to ski.

Lucinda we are sorry that you were unhappy. Much of your frustration was due to the television. We have a product called GuestCast (Chromecast) to view the TV, and one needs an app on their phone, iPad or computer to watch our tv's. Call it casting, streaming or mirroring from your device. This is clearly on our website. We send a confirmation of your reservation, once it is made. It also states it then. Lastly, our system sends a reminder email about your reservation and states it again. As I have shown many guests, when booking through Expedia we only are provided a name, phone number and an email that is encrypted by Expedia. The night you checked in, you called and my husband offered for you to come to the front desk or he would come to your room to help you with the TV. You refused. As I have said in another review, read about the lodging. She was right on, the hotel side was built in the 70s. We have bathrooms with white, avocado, harvest gold and a few baby blue bathroom fixtures. The drop down ceiling in part of the bathroom is called a chase and houses copper plumbing pipes. We purchased 24 new showerheads of a well respected plumbing company recently. After installing 3 or 4, we discovered the original ones that came with the Inn provided a more powerful flow. Which many of our guests who hike enjoy for tense muscles. The guests' door has a lock on the door knob as well as a U-bolt for safety. You were not in the basement, as we have a walk out basement below the first level. Also we had the screen and storm window down to provide you a quieter night, since you were roadside. But you chose to have the window open. The rate reflected the holiday weekend and the 300,000 guests that visit our area to leaf peep. Your reservation also requires our Inn to pay Expedia a commission for your reservation. You were charged for one night and a cancellation fee. After my husband carried your luggage to your car and got the key. He then came inside to charge you, and the credit card was declined. He then went back out, before you left, and retrieved a new card and brought it back to you. Most places charge you when you make the reservation. I appreciate the nod to cleanliness. Which is a main priority. All of your bedding including the mattress pads, pillow protectors, all linens and even the shower curtain are washed. The carpet had just been steam cleaned that morning. All rooms are not equal. Each and every room is unique. Many of our rooms have expensive Garnet Hill linens and bedspreads They all did at one time until some parents allowed their children to write on a 200 bedspread with a sharpie marker. The front desk area was built in 1890. We have frost heaves here as it gets down to -30 for periods of time. It is hard to have things plumb when the ground moves the streets and the buildings. The point is we have heard you and we will strive to make that room better.
