o.k for a short break
Posted 17 Sep 2020 on HotelsThe Commodore was fine for a short stay. It was in the Keystoke area which is about 5 miles. from WSMThe hotel was rather dated but clean and welcoming. The room faced the road which led to the Pontins complex further down the road so traffic could be heard some of the time. The lady on reception was welcoming g and friendly and she seemed to multi tasking most of the time.
Overall it was o.k and exactly as described

A gem
Posted 23 Mar 2020 on HotelsExcellent location with ample free parking. Good breakfast and a varied evening menu. The decor may be a bit tired and dated and the floorboards a bit creaky! But it never stops me coming back. A gem.

The hotel wifi was inadequate for my needs and due to this I arrived asking for an evening meal 15 minutes after the stated closing time of 8pm Diners were still eating & being served their puddings Bar person came back saying ‘no chef Said we are closed’ suggested I make a crisp sandwich which I did & paid £3 for 4 slices of bread n butter

No complaints
Posted 27 Feb 2020 on HotelsMade me feel so welcome from the start warm and comfortable room .I am not a breakfast person but was offered fruit, cereal, eggs, toast, cheese. This is the first hotel that the breakfast tea was not hot water with milk. I shall be going again

Staff polite, friendly and very capable but the place lacked atmosphere.

Although the building, rooms and staff were great, the whole building felt soulless, no pictures or personality and felt quite clinical.
