Excelsior: exceptional!
Posted 14 Nov 2022 on HotelsI would love this to be our new Eugene hotel! I wish we would’ve known about The Excelsior before now! Charming; quiet; secure; low-tech (no 27 LED lights blinking at night, staring into my sleepless eyes); courteous and helpful staff; delicious, home-made breakfast included; competitive pricing; and classical music themed rooms. This kind of hotel attracts like-minded guests; and we were not disappointed. And there were little touches, too, such as a nightlight in the bathroom, and a wine opener with the ice bucket! We’ve stayed at more expensive venues with less amenities. Each staff member went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable. By the way, that was a great bed.

It was very pretty! I loved the classic decor and it was very clean. The parking was a bit inconvenient but it's to be expected in that location right in the middle of town. It was nice that they offered breakfast and it was pet friendly. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Room was very small but nicely decorated and themed. Very close to the University, but surprisingly few attractive dining options nearby.

It’s a great place, close to campus and each room is themed to a classical musician. Family owned. It was here 25 years ago when I was a student at U of O, always wanted to come inside. I’m so glad we did!
