Hotel is across the road from the train station, making it convenient to get to Leipzig, which was our main priority. Hotel is surrounded by woodland and has parking available. Rooms are on the small side, but the biggest issue was that there is no air-conditioning (only a portable fan) or a fridge in the rooms and as they are on the top floor, they become stifling in the summer heat. "We were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this hotel was. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed that I have slept in during this trip! The hotel staff were friendly and although we did not speak German and they did not speak English, we managed to communicate. There was a locked bike cage in the garage which we appreciated. By bike it was a quick cycle into the centre of town where we found a bakery, grocery store and a lovely park. "

"Everything and anything in the castle stinks with cat urine! The sanitation department should check this place. A cat killed a mouse right in front of us in the "lobby"... The "apartment" rented to us was not a true rental, it was someone else's full time apartment that was cleaned for us. It had all the articles of the owner. Really gross. "The hotel has no AC. Our room was above the front of the hotel, where everyone gathered on the patio to drink and smoke. The noise and the smell were terrible. The room was hot, and to open the window your room smelled of smoke. We woke up at 6:30 am to the smell of smoke. How dreadful! We asked for a fan, but the hotel did not have any. And the hotel is located on a busy road. Needless to say, we had a terrible sleep. We were cycling the Elbe river. We would not recommend. "
