Dear Hendrik en Dalene de Bruin, thank you for reviewing your stay, - also on Google.I am really sorry to not have told you in advance, the TV in your room would not work. We tried to have a technician out before your arrival however they were not able to come, (too many repairs since the storm we had). You are correct, I should have shown you another room. To may defense however, as you booked the room which is connected to the generator and we did expect load-shedding, I did unfortunately not offer that and let you decide. My apologies. We have mosquito repellant (electric mats) on the small shelf next tor the door I should have also mentioned that separately at check-in as it is unfortunately omitted in the explanatory notes in the guest-book on the table. We are taking your suggestion of proper drinking glasses (not only wine glasses) in the room to heart. (which at at present we provide promptly whenever requested).We hope we may welcome you here again for a better experience.Kind regards Margret and the team at Oude Wellington

Beautiful rest in the country side

This break at the end of the working day was very relaxing.
For Europeans not used to loadshedding, bring mosquito repellent to protect yourself from their arrival when the fan stops!
This will not stop me from coming back each time I will visit Paarl. I will then also be able to dine at the restaurant, which I have heard so much about.

great stay BUT could be cleaner.
Posted 3 Dec 2021 on HotelsMargret, our host - was great. Super friendly and helpful. Overall, however - the place is visibly old and is in need of general cleaning (the inside of the room's toilet bowl was terribly stained) and just tidying.

Dear guests
2 out of 5 and no other comment than "poor", how can we improve on anything with so little to go by. We improve the experience constantly and for example installed a brand new swimming pool with new automatic child save cover in January 2019. We also added an out door table tennis table and a big chess too. Maybe you find the time to elaborate a bit what in your opinion needs improvement or what we could do to make your stay more enjoyable.

Lovely,peaceful stay with friendly people
Posted 3 Apr 2018 on HotelsLovely farm with horses, alpacas, geese, dogs and an ostrich. Great food at the restaurant. Breakfast good. Only hassle in our room was that it was a little noisy when there was a family with kids next door. Pool was very welcome, as it gets very hot in Wellington during Summer and Autumn.
