Great potential , can be alot better

No near by shops or restaurents. No minibar in the rooms , to be fair they kept my medications in the restaurent and handled the situation well Nice place close to the beach. Great value for money. Good AC. Very clean. Good food in the hotel restaurent. They provided transportation with acceptable prices.

Staff are super friendly and nice. Always trying to help including welcome drink etc. Hotel does match expectations however I felt it was a bit more expensive for what you receive. The bed sheets are not the cleanest, and the internet only works really well if you are close to the central hallway, which in my case meant sitting in the toilet to have proper internet access.

Lovely hotel in the right area

The rooms and hotel are fabulous, big and bright and really nicely decorated. Ok, so the hotel backs right onto the train tracks, but they didn’t run late and although the first train at 5:30 woke me on the first morning, I dropped straight back off again and didn’t have any other issues. However, I should point out we were on the side of the hotel in a deluxe room. If you have a basic room on the back, it may affect you more as these rooms look straight down onto the tracks. Although the Marriott is directly opposite blocking any view of the sea, you can easily get to the beach down the side of the Marriott and this bit of the coast is the cleanest and nicest bit of the beach (presumably because the Marriott have staff keeping it that way). The all the staff were lovely and arranged a car to the airport when we flew home.

The bed linen was not to my liking. The beds are made with a DUVET on top. It did NOT look fresh or clean. The pillows and bed sheet was spotless. A bed should have a covering sheet and then OVER IT the DUVET.

Modern room, great dinner and breakfast

Chef was most memorable because the food was delicious. Service staff were attentive and thoughtful, especially at the restaurant. The toilet should separate the shower so that the whole floor and W.C would not be entirely wet when guest takes a shower. Train track is next to hotel.

Nice and comfortable hotel

Pros: Good location, comfortable, and clean.
Location: Very near to Weligama surfing area, walking distant.
Overall is very nice. The hotel is beside the railway, noisy in the morning when train passby.

Clean place

The room and the bathroom was clean but they had a problem with the light which they fixed later. Other than that they had twin bad joined so we requested another mattress or to change room but they said the category is full. Which they later fixed by putting a quilt in between to bed. We had lunch first day at rooftop restaurant and it was good. But next day when we went for dinner and we ordered chicken curry and the chicken was not cooked well. They offers free drinks and cook the curry again but we didn't want to take the risk so had dinner somewhere else. Other than that the train noise is very loud as the hotel is just next to the railway line.

close to the beach with no beach views

My husband and I stayed at the Brizo Weligama for 2 nights and we were a bit disappointed. We were put in room with a view of the railroad tracks that are literally right behind the hotel and yes trains are coming by all morning/ day. On the other side of the hotel is the highway, which is very close and loud. Even if we were given a different room There is a brand new Marriot being built right across the street blocking any view of the sea. The staff seemed nice enough but not too helpful and the restaurant staff consisted of one guy who didn't seem to know what was going on, when we asked for some ice it took about 25 minutes..... We arranged for them to call us a tuktuk for a morning whale watching and we woke up to realize they hadn't called to arrange. Overall the rooms are a bit small, but clean and modern and the roof top restaurant is nice and would have a sea view if not for construction across the street. My husband and I probably wouldn't stay there again for about 100 USD a night it just didn't seem worth it....I'd check out one of the other hotels a little further towards town
