I never leave reviews but felt it was necessary so others don’t make the same mistake we did. Writing to share our recent experience at the Silver Fox Inn in New Hampshire, which we booked through Expedia. While we were drawn to the charming location and description online, our in-person experience was quite different. The property felt very dated and had an ambiance reminiscent of a funeral home. Additionally, there was a musty odor throughout, and we found the room to be less than clean. Moreover, the breakfast included with our stay was disappointing and did not meet our expectations. Although the location was convenient, we feel misled by the online representation of the property and once we realized what we were in for we couldn’t book anywhere else.

We are in the process of making improvements and hiring some new staff to help us make our guest's happy at all times. I do understand that the unforeseen plumbing issues we had during the time of your stay made it less than ideal for all involved. If you are looking for a comfortable mights sleep after a day of hiking or skiing, DO NOT stay here! I will start by saying the area where the hotel is located is beautiful and the lobby area was lovely and cozy. We never met any of the staff during our stay as we didnt check in until 12AM, and there was no one at the desk when we checked out at 11 AM. Breakfast is done very early at 9 AM. We felt that is too early for breakfast to be done and as we didnt get to sleep until 1 am we missed it. The room was large, clean, but outdated and had no mini fridge for the leftovers we had so we had to discard them. Our biggest issue were the beds. When I say they were the cheapest, most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in I'm not exaggerating. It felt like a think layer of cardboard over metal springs. When I first laid down I couldnt believe how uncomfortable it was. I could feel metal springs poking me all over my body. The floor would have been more comfortable! We tossed and turned all night and got a horrible sleep and woke up exhausted, sore snd in pain. For $200 a night, it's not worth it to stay here! Please purchase new mattresses! At the very least if you are too cheap to do that, buy a thick, memory foam mattress topper!

It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay. Our double rooms could use some updating, the lower rate for this room type is one of the outcomes of this. We are a bit short staffed, our versatile front desk staff is who actually does the breakfast at the moment. I do hope that you called the number located on the front desk for after hours to see if anything could be done about this situation, a staff member would have been there within 10 minutes to help you.
