Room was quite nice and well maintained, cups and kitchen tools were dirty which was kind of a bummer as I arrived at dinner time and had to clean things. Staff were helpful in bringing me a second kettle as the ones in the room needed a deep clean. Beautiful views

We took a look at the room and left immediately, it was extremely dated and dirty. Floor tiles were loose and not fitted propery and floor had not been washed properly. Pictures on the web did not look anything like room. Room looked like it was last updated in 1970. We left, drove back to Pincher Creek and got a room at a decent hotel. Did not and would not stay here, EVER!

Loved my stay at Crandell. Yes, the rooms are on the small side, yes the deck needs to be painted, yes it’s not the most soundproof hotel, none of that bothered me. I knew that I was going to be staying in the off season so there were less people staying at the lodge and I didn’t have to worry about too much noise, there was always parking and I was always able to get a seat at the three restaurants that are still open this time of year (2 at Kilmorey across the street and the Italian restaurant 3 blocks away at Glacier Suites). I also didn’t have to fight for parking spots at the local popular trailheads. Things I loved about Crandell Mountain Lodge and why I would definitely stay there again: - Because you check in at Kilmorey across the street, there is no lobby or people to watch you come and go. It’s an apartment style lodge built in the 40s and, other than the other guests coming and going staying in your section, you may not see anyone else. It feels more like a private living space. - Location was awesome. - The pub and lamppost restaurant are right across the street and have very good food. The bison blue cheese burger and the chicken pot pie was the best pot pie I’ve ever had. - Appreciated the little things like some great caffeine free options for tea along with the traditional in room caffeinated tea and coffee choices. - the soak tub for my salt bath after a long hike. - no tv but WiFi worked great so I could stream without issues.

Stayed in a nicely renovated room with good amenities. Comfortable and clean. Blew a breaker one morning, no breaker panel in the room. Hotel staff couldn’t reach the maintenance crew. Mildly irritating as it meant using extension cords for some basic things like making coffee. I hate to complain, but doing without electrical outlets for 3 days of stay is frustrating when it takes all of 2 seconds to flip a breaker back on. P.S. - Parking lines would be nice. Had to load from the street because 3 vehicles were using 5 spots.

We loved the location and the amenities which included a kitchenette. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately we had a ground level suite and there is little sound proofing between floors. The floors squeak and groan with every step. Unfortunately our upstairs neighbour was restless and up very early so a good sleep was impossible. We recommend an upstairs room.

Overall a cute place to stay for a few nights. Room was really clean but overall the property is very old and run down- a little outside maintenance would go a long way!

I would not stay here again. We have stayed with Crandall before, but not in the main lodge. I don't mind shabby, but this was dirty. There was literally a streak of sh*t on the toilet seat. Utensils had crusty food on them, and the microwave had splaters. There were no kichen towels or clothes, just an old scrubber that was crusty from previous use. We also put outside at least a dozen large box beetles. While I have no issue with the beatles themselves, the evidence of thier excrement was visible on some of the towels. And the noise...creaking floors and partiers upstairs make for annoyingly long nights. I will end on the only positive note, the beds were clean and comfortable. As for expedia, they should be aware that the pictures on their site are not actually from the lodge, they are from Aspen village. Very decieving. I know this because I booked Crandall before, but thats were we stayed.

Nice bed, very close to the lake. A little rundown on the outside and the mouse traps in the room make you feel a little uneasy, but for a night it was satisfactory

Rooms are as expected for the price. Reception was kind and helpful. Main issue was the cleanliness. Room was extremely dirty, particularly the floor. Our socks were basically black on the bottom, and if we were barefoot our feet bottoms became black. Mopping needs to happen as the floors need a good scrubbing. Other than that, Waterton is a beautiful town, and so safe with kind people and glorious views. If this hotel does a few things better, I’m sure they’ll be much more successful!
