Walterboro - St. George hotel rooms a the Independent

"Room was clean. Trash laying around outside of property and pool was dirty with thick layer of slime, leaves. To cold to swim but pool could still be clean or covered. There was fighting between guests just a few doors from ours. Yelling Cussing Screaming and banging on walls and doors plus car alarms going off all happened around midnight. Not a very restful night!"

"Would not stay here again. Our bathroom was dirty! There appeared to be soap scum on the counter, there were so many hairs on the toilet and the floor, and the shampoo bottle was completely missing. I could see dust in the room as well. My kids love getting breakfast at hotels but they were not happy. Some foods were out of stock and less choices than other places. Definitely don’t recommend."

"The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. These are the most important things to us. Staff was great. Continental breakfast was adequate as was the AC. We will definitely stay here again as we’re traveling as long as the beds are comfortable. "

"I did not use the internet, so cannot rate Wi-Fi, the ice machine was broken, seems to be normal lately for most hotels I have been this past year, ice machines are broken. But the most important thing was the beds and although the mattress were comfortable enough the base they have them on are extremely LOUD!, you could not shift or move without waking up. Most of these "hotels" say free breakfast but the lobby is the size of a a kids room, so they did have a waffle maker and I saw coffee but we did not eat there, decided to go down the road to a McDonalds ( don't go it was 9:30 and they were out of breakfast ). The area is clean the hotel is well taken care of is just old, I gotta say the Italian restaurant across and up the street was AMAZING!"
