Despite its relatively demure name, Walking Street is the first stop on the list for those seeking a wild time in Pattaya. Constantly jam-packed full of tourists, the street is lined with restaurants offering the very best in international cuisine. For the more daring and adventurous, there are a plethora of street carts teeming with unusual delicacies such as silkworms and fried grasshoppers. Sit back and watch the crowds pass by, all swaying to the rhythm of pulsating dance tunes as they make their way towards those bright florescent lights. Sit ringside and cheer with the crowds at a local boxing match or dance the night away in one of the area’s many nightclubs. The number of cabaret and go-go clubs around are a testament to Pattaya’s reputation as one of the best party destinations in Asia. This long strip is infamous for its raucous social life. One of the reasons why Pattaya’s party scene is so exciting is because there is always a new hot spot to check out, be it a lively nightclub, a hip new bar or an exclusive restaurant.Walking Street is only pedestrianised from early evening to the early hours of the morning. In other words, the street only truly comes to life after dusk. If you’re looking to enjoy a nice quiet meal, the early evening is the best time to step out. However, party-goers should wait until night-fall to descend upon Walking Street as, like most party districts, the majority of nightclubs and bars only get going after midnight.Pickpocketing has been a problem in the past, as is often the norm in vibrant party destinations, so be sure to keep an eye on your money. Watch out for bars or taxis trying to take advantage and overcharge you. Be careful and alert and you shouldn’t have any problems.Parking is available at the southern end of the street. However if you’re out for the night and don’t feel like driving, there are plenty of taxis and scooters floating around either end of Walking Street that will take you back to your hotel.
