It was our first time in the UP and the lodge was perfect. My wife and I loved, and spent most of every evening in the lounge area playing the pinball and dart games. If we ever make it up that way again, we will definitely be staying at the lodge. Even the couple that we came to visit didn’t know it was here and are getting there family members to stay there when they visit.

It was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. We appreciated the abundance of towels and the Keurig machine for hot cocoa!

I liked the self-check in. The room was clean and adequate. Not much around the property but this place is for those who are heading outdoors on adventures.

Don’t let the bright photo of the lobby fool you. It is dark, dreary, and the common areas and hallways stink like a combination of smoking and no cleaning. No coffee pot in the room, just a single Kureig in the lobby. There is no front desk, it’s all self check in. No one monitoring who comes and goes. An idea of who their customer base consists of is illustrated in a sign posted asking guest to help keep the linens clean by showering after a trail ride. Not a family place, the best part was dawn, when I could leave.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. Yes, you are correct in the signage asking guests to help keep our white linens clean after being outdoors all day in the iron saturated dust. We do take pride in providing lodging to outdoor enthusiasts. We do not allow smoking indoors. Our facility is thoroughly cleaned daily. Sorry we couldn't live up to your strict expectations.

I really wanted to like this place however my room smelled horrible. The musty smell permeated through everything. The room itself was clean with a very dated avocado green bathroom. The self check in went great but there’s no visible staff. The TV only works if you have Hulu or Netflix. Convenient parking. My husband was packed & ready to leave in the morning in record time. Maybe it’s better in the winter when more people are there? The smell unfortunately ruined it for us definitely needs a good airing out.

Sorry for your experience. We recently had those rooms shut down for a couple weeks due to the HVAC waiting for replacement. We realized the rooms were stuffy and have since aired them out. Our new HVAC works great and makes the rooms very comfortable. We hope you'll give us another opportunity to earn your business.
