I liked the isolation of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff and locals. A comfortable room with nice en suite. The breakfast (cereal, toast etc.) included was a real bonus and a chance to meet other travelers.
Also it was very good value for money!

Rural old country pub, we stayed on a Friday night when all the locals turned up. Large meals of country style food. Great Southern hospitality. Comfy bed. Loved it

Very impressed with the level of sevice and relaxed atmosphere. Would certainly recommend it as a place to stay in the Maniototo.

I love the friendliness of this country pub, the publican has the easy going attentive manner, the food is amazing. Id wanted to come and stay for a while since i had previously lived in duntroon and on occassion gone for a ride with others over danseys for the day and they had introduced me to waipiata country hotel, i liked going there from the first day i stepped in the door. Id always wanted to have dinner here rather than a quick lunch. It didnt disappoint.
