We like the newness of the property. We like the ability to walk to McClane Stadium. The walkable paths and area around the hotel is beautiful due to its nearness to the Brazos and the bridges. It is not ideal however if you want to be in and walk within the downtown Waco neighborhood. It’s an easy drive but I’d recommend a hotel in downtown if you want to be in that neighborhood. The lobby, bar and restaurant are spacious and beautiful.
Overall it’s a comfortable and very nice stay.
Our fear is that over time when the newness wears off, lack of staffing will degrade the property. Although the present staff is friendly and willing to help but there’s just not eneough staff. In addition housekeeping fell short on service. They bed was actually messily made, we almost thought they didn’t come and then realized neither my husband or I made any attempt to make our bed so they had to have come in. We also realized that towels were replenished so that also confirmed they were in the room. However, they didn’t replace us with enough towels or wash clothes so that was irritating as well. In addition, they may or may not have even swiffered the floors. Which swiffering is very bare minimum to begin with.
Another observation is that the front desk staff sit behind the front desk. I have never observed this until this hotel so we thought it strange.

Don’t have much in rooms. No paper no pens.
Need bigger trash in bath

Wonderful spacious room with modern furnishings. Easy walk from Baylor but some sidewalks missing.
However, in the room noisy minibar and AC is noisy and hard to control.
Restaurant staff inexperienced and unfriendly: slow to provide service (salt and paper?), and spills coffee on my table and does not even apologize or come to wipe it.
