Great family studio. Felt like home. We arrived late and the hosts were very accommodating. Great place to stay

As a gay couple traveling in a remote part of Iceland, we really appreciated seeing the rainbow flag flying when we drove up (Gay Pride week having just ended). The manager was friendly and professional, and the food was very good. While the accommodations were basic, everything was well-kept, and the prices were fair, while we’ve found much in Iceland to be quite expensive. Takk fyrir!

We booked through Expedia and even the charges were on Credit Card. When we got there they said we didn’t book and there was no room for us.

Hello Jessica. Thank you for your comment,
at 13.mars 14 people staid at our hotel but two guests who did have booked one double room did not come to the hotels reception at the 13.of mars, that is it. We waited for you until 23.30 even though the reception closed at 21.00. ( whether was not good )
At 7. of mars when you maid your booking our hotel was closed and the hotels restaurant was also closed for private party.
at the evening of 7. of mars when the private party was on in the hotel 3 girls came to the hotel on a happy campers car and said that the had a booking through Expedia. the hotel was closed so it was not possible that they had booked that day. We said it and showed them the booking system in our computer and asked for the booking number or just the booking in their phone but they could not do it because it was not possible.
We told the way to the champing ground and I did call them who run that place for them. if those 3 girls where you and your friends, you where on a wrong date and also 3 but not 2 and no booking number to proof it.
gr. Gísli at hotel Tangi.

Good stay!
Posted 5 Jul 2019 on HotelsThe hotel was a very convenient stay for us as we were passing through the area to see a nearby sight. Check in was very easy and the room was very clean. However, we did notice that the showers did not drain well and the towels were quite rough. Otherwise, the stay was excellent and comfortable! We really enjoyed breakfast and the coffee machine! I would recommend this hotel if you are in the area!

Historical corer of Iceland
Posted 1 Jul 2017 on HotelsVopnafjordur is charming. The local museum presents its unique history points - emigration to America and its 2 favorite sons Jonas Arnason & Jon Mula. The view of te fish processing plant is not great but the unspoiled nature all around is wonderful. We had it all to ourselves the first night.

Room was adequate and clean. Not a fan of the shared bathroom but it was clean as well. Location was convenient, close to gas and food options, very quiet with nice views and the breakfast selection was enjoyable. Not so sure we would choose this location as a stop for a return visit to Iceland.

Not all rooms come with private bathroom

Location: Quiet little town and most restaurants close early (5pm).
Booked this hotel as an overnight stop. Reached the hotel around 3+pm, and the hotel doors were locked. Turns out the hotel staff (or owner?) was out on an errand run. Thankfully we had a local cell to call for the staff to open the doors.
Room was more like a hostel and with bare minimums and an in-room sink. Toilet was shared (only 4 of the rooms came with private bathroom and they were located on the first floor).
