fraudulent B&B listing and credit card charges
Posted 13 Aug 2016
Pros: did not like anything since it was uninhabitable
Cons: Canadian police should investigate this incident and refer it to state prosecutor.
Location: moldy ground level room in an old wooden house
My husband and I checked in at 3:30pm to be told by an oriental lady that she is not aware of any reservations. From the appearance of the B&B room it looked that the place had not been inhabited for a while. There were dirty dishes in the sink, an old mattress and a box-spring next to a garbage can. The lady claiming to be the owner offered to clean the room after she returned from her doctors appointment some time in the late afternoon and demanded cash for the two day stay. There was no further discussion following the broken reservation contract.

Quiet seclusion at Cadboro Bay
Posted 8 Feb 2016 on HotelsI stayed one night while attending a function at UVic. The room looked cosy and welcoming.
I arrived after dark so had problems identifying where the property was when I arrived at the address. I did not realise that it was going to be a separate building to the main house ( I actually quite liked this ). I telephoned the owner who clarified the situation.
It would have been useful to have had details about check-in and check-out prior to arriving. When I was due to leave next morning I felt that I should have signed something to verify my stay.
I did like the fact that this was a self-contained unit. It was very quiet. Bed comfortable. No TV when I stayed, but this did not concern me.

Lovely building, Terrible owners.
Posted 27 Oct 2015 on HotelsThe room was incredibly nice, however the management/owner was terrible.
They had double booked my room, and tried to move me to another hotel over 5kms away, over 10 hours after I had checked into the room and unpacked. When I explained I needed to be within walking distance of the university, the soul reason I had been willing to pay more for the room, they still insisted on moving me out. They offered no refund for the 5 nights I paid for, despite only allowing me to stay for 3. Would never trust with a booking ever again.

Secluded cottage in residential area of Victoria
Posted 30 Sep 2015The B and B cottage was in a pleasant residential area of Victoria. The room was nice and was expected. Breakfast is not included in the room rate. It is extra if needed. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this B and B to others.
