I felt villa vignola was a special place. Positioned slightly up a hill, the property is right on the ocean, cascading down on several levels, each with fantastic views. It used to be a private villa and has a lovely architecture. The ambiance is just 'feel-good', nice paintings and objets d'art around. Also special is the restaurant. During my stay the menu offered only seafood dishes. It was explained that this is only during off- season because everything is totally fresh and with fewer guests it isn't practical to offer too many dishes. Each of the fish dishes I had were excellent; however, on my third day I asked for a meat dish (of the chef's choosing) and got a terriffic steak. I would also like to mention the owner's special attention and help I have received! Mille grazie, Angelo! I had three wonderful, peaceful days.

Relaxing

Posted 28 Sep 2019 on Hotels
We had a relaxing time the team were helpful and dinner in the restaurant was lovely. Villa Vignola suited us it was on the water with beautiful view. Vasto marina and the countryside we wished to visit were easy to get to by car.

Good Location

Posted 15 Sep 2018
Pros: Good position, beach, aspect.
Cons: The bedroom floors did not appear to have been cleaned for some time.
Nice hotel by the beach. Lovely staff and great food at the restaurant.

Great But Restaurant Closed

Posted 13 Sep 2018 on Hotels
Drove for 5 hours from Otranto for one night stay mainly to go to the highly rated restaurant. On arrival told the restaurant was closed due to a wedding. Only food available was bread, cheese and prosciutto! Reception, room and location all excellent. But if you are going and the restaurant is important to you you should check that it is open before booking.

It was fine but expensive for what we got. Area is weird, but over all the hotel is nice.

Hidden Gem with 5 STAR Restaurant

Posted 31 Jul 2018 on Hotels
The restaurant blew our minds, we ate there two nights in a row. And, it was on a beach! Only recommendation is to get them to call / reserve other restaurants in the area, particularly the Trabuccos that were all sold out in high (summer) season.
