Great gem if you are visiting Vancouver for a short period of time. I was attending the CFL Grey Cup so this place served it's purpose. Staff was polite and friendly and manager put me in the 1 bedroom suite with a fantastic view from the 9th floor so I appreciated that. Only drawback is the property is a bit old and it's showing it's age. With some upgrades to furniture and painting in the hallways, etc. This could increase the star rating, but I wouldn't mind staying here.

The Tropicana is 60 years old, and seems like it has never had a renovation. That is part of it's charm. I felt like my suite was a set on the TV show, "Mad Men".
Still, I enjoyed my stay, and probably will stay at the Tropicana for my future visits to Vancouver as long as it still stands.

Thank you for the stay. Although building a little older I found everything I needed - and the view from my high level window amazing!
Being so central it was an easy walk to the waterfront -even Stanley park, and of course many shops.
So it fitted my needs fine.
cheers

Its an old place. Dont expect too much. For the price you get what you paid for. But its in a very convenient location and in central downtown. Its walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

The staff were amazing but the room wasn’t the cleanest or nicest. You definitely get what you pay
