Loved staying in a fully equipped suite - with balcony and BBQ - for the same price as a mid-range hotel room. Suite was modern, clean, and comfortable. Other reviewers have mentioned the distance to the key pick up. It is about a 10-minute walk, so prepare for that. I’m sure a cab would wait, as the process of retrieving the key from the lockbox takes around a minute. We were traveling light so it wasn’t an issue. And yes, the suite is in Gastown which is right next to the DTES. There are a fair amount of homeless/ addicts in the DTES, but they generally keep to themselves. Not an issue for us (we are from Vancouver though). Gastown is my favourite part of Downtown Vancouver, so small price to pay in my mind, and the condo is located near many newer condo buildings (ie it’s not in the worst part of town)

The location was good and the property appeared to be safe and clean. However, the process for picking up the key was complex and added more cost due to two taxi rides and wasted at least 1 hour of my time. In side the unit, the fire alarm went off 4 times on Monday night. that was terrible and created headache and lack of energy due to lack of sleep.

Hello We apologize for the inconvenience regarding the fire alarm. The fire department was notified and worked throughout the night to repair the issue.

It was great staying here! You have to pick up the keys at a 7/11 nearby, but the process was simple and easy and the communication from Noel Suites was great! Space was nice and clean, and I enjoyed staying in this area.

Lovely, modern space with all the basic amenities for a nice weekend stay. Nice central location to enjoy restaurants, bars and cafes in Gastown, with a secure entrance for peace of mind in the neighbourhood.

Close to downtown but not in a nice area. People smoking crack in the ally below the balcony. Very nice inside and very clean. No air conditioning and only opens to fresh air on one side of the unit so no airflow; it was too warm to sleep decently. Smart TV was great to have. Rainfall shower head and water pressure was awesome. Communication with the guy who answers the phone was great. He was very polite and super helpful. It was similar in cost to nice hotels in nicer areas which would have had air conditioning, but nice to have no lobby; felt like our own place downtown which we enjoyed. We would return.

Great Apartment/Condo in Gastown!!

Posted 12 Aug 2019 on Hotels
The condo is located very close to Gastown and Coal Harbour area of the city which are full of great restaurants, bars and culture. The condo itself is nice and big with a private terrace and all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. There have been comments regarding the people in the area; it is true it is not far from an area known for some drug using characters, however, I believe that the people are generally harmless and I would not make your decision based on this. The condo has fob entry and is very safe. I would recommend the Noel Suites-Gastown to anyone looking for a rental in Vancouver.

The area near this place is not the nicest area. Lots of homeless people. There was no air conditioning which wasn't a big issue but we left the patio door open and your heard the homeless screaming all night or the trucks early in the morning in the back alley way. Picking up the key was not the most convenient when we were in a taxi. We had to pick up the key at a lock box in a 7-Eleven store about 3 blocks away. The condo was nice and clean and fairly new.

DO NOT BOOK HERE - HORRIBLE NEIGHBORHOOD

Posted 14 Jun 2019 on Hotels
We arrived late to Vancouver and were directed to a nearby 7-11 to pick up the key. There was a problem with the Key Cafe machine, and I was on the phone with tech support in India. It took 45 minutes for me to get the key. When we arrived at the property, we were overwhelmed by the amount of homeless on the street only a half a block from the hotel. It was a homeless encampment, with the noise and trash you would expect from that many people living in the street. We didn't feel safe getting out of the car and had to find another hotel (for another $340). When we arrived at our new lodgings, I called Hotels.com and they said that they would email the property. Meanwhile, there was a convention coming into Vancouver, and the price of our new hotel was going up to $600 the next night, I spent hours the next morning looking for other lodgings and we ended up in North Vancouver, which was lovely, but not our desired area. I called Noel Suites and was assured by the manager Caitlyn that she had authorized a full refund for our three night booking. When we returned from our trip, I contacted Hotels.com and they said that only a one night refund was authorized by Noel Suites. After a lot of time, and a conversation with a supervisor, Hotels.com agreed to refund me and additional $500, bringing my total refund to $846.80. I paid $1,101.35, so I am still out $254.55. Pictures attached are of the area the next day when we had to return the key.

Hello Lynn, Sorry about the technical issue with the Key Cafe. I can understand how that can be frustrating. The tech support rep was actually from Vancouver. Not eveyone with an accent is from India. Vancouver has over 40% Indo Canadian population. Our city does not discriminate against the homeless, we are a society that understands there are less fortunate people but we respect them all the same. The refund was authorized by the manager as a courtesy.
