Don't stay here!!!
Posted 17 Sep 2023 on HotelsWE have been fortunate enough to have stayed at over 100 properties using Hotels.com over the last ten years. This is the first negative review we have submitted.
The manager Cliff is unbelievably rude and incapable of holding a civil conversation!
My wife accidentally broke a mirror in the bathroom mistakenly thinking it was a shaving cabinet with storage behind. I attempted to contact Cliff and on the fifth call he finally picked up and proceeded to advise that if the mirror wasn't paid for in full by 2pm the next day we would be evicted with no refund. He stated that he had received approval from Hotels.com for this course of action which was blatantly untrue.
After stating that my wife must have been insane (yes insane) for assuming that a bathroom with no other storage could possibly have a shaving cabinet, he proceeded to rant and rave. It got to the point that I placed my phone on loud speaker so that the friends we were with could hear the tirade, at the end of which he hung up. They were dumb founded.
A quick search on the manufacturers website showed that the mirror, which was connected to mains electricity, had been installed incorrectly. I'm sure that the new mirror which we did end up paying for has been installed to manufacturers specifications.
There are hundreds of options for accommodation in the nearby area.
There are also many fantastic management operations in the area that any owner should consider instead of this buffoon!

I’m really surprised that you had the audacity to wrote a review! I was expecting an apology from you not an aggressive and insulting review!You broke a mirror - clearly not a cabinet - and you refused to pay! That’s the end of it. The rest of the insults came from you, again, clearly doing it again by calling me a Buffoon in a public review! I wonder who is and was being rude during this all ordeal! I really wish that I can review you in the hope that other hosts avoid hosting such a rude, disrespectful and unruly guests!

Clean modern apartment with a super comfy bed. The location is great -- a quarter mile from the cathedral/grand master's palace in one direction and a quarter mile from the bus station so that you can sightsee other parts of the island. Everything worked (internet, TV, appliances, lift). Maid service every day. Mostly a quiet neighborhood except when there was an outdoor concert at the Barrakka Gardens at the weekend. We felt very safe. The only downside is the actual location is down a small side street and looks unprepossing -- the taxi driver from the cruise terminal didn't know the address so had to call, plus sometimes the street is blocked off for cars (much of Valletta is pedestrianized). Oh, plus I'd like to see a grab bar in the shower (I'm a senior with poor balance).

Its a lovely set up right next to the Barrakka gardens. No self laundry on site but there is some nearby. Not all rooms have roof access.
