Valdemoro is a hidden gem that offers numerous buildings, parks and gardens and festivities of all kinds for tourists to visit.

In Valdemoro there are several Baroque buildings and monuments that are well worth a visit. This Spanish city can boast an extensive list of parks and gardens where you can enjoy a picnic or a pleasant walk under the sun. Valdemoro is a city to the south of Madrid, and has great transport links with the capital, so the best way to enjoy a holiday in Valdemoro is to get to Madrid, for example, by plane, and then take a train from the emblematic Atocha train station. The journey takes less than half an hour and the trains run approximately every 20 minutes.

Although the city isn’t well known for its cultural and historical heritage, you can be sure that Valdemoro has a range of attractive buildings and monuments for tourists to visit. Some of the highlights are the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción church and the ermita del Santo Cristo de la Salud shrine, both in the Baroque style. It’s well worth taking a walk around the Plaza de la Constitución to admire its clock tower. As for monuments, there are several that are particularly curious and worth seeing, such as El Astronauta, a piece by the Galician painter and sculptor Francisco Leiro Lois.
