Take your pick of activities at this huge sporting complex, where Olympic-standard facilities offer locals, visitors and professional athletes a place to train.

Burn off some energy at Urayasu Sports Park, a vast complex of high-class facilities which have long been favored by Olympic and Paralympic athletes. On a visit to Urayasu, or indeed to Tokyo, the sports park is a fantastic place to get a bit of exercise and enjoy some friendly competition.

The main arena of Urayasu Sports Park can seat over 1,000 spectators. But that’s just the beginning of what the enormous complex has to offer. There are five floors and two basement levels packed with sporting facilities, as well as extensive outdoor facilities. Discover all there is to do indoors with a sub-arena, table tennis room, a martial arts practice space, three swimming pools including an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool, and a gym training room. There is even a hot spring bath in which to soak sore muscles.

Head outside to find numerous tennis courts, an outdoor track and field facility, archery grounds, a baseball field and a full-sized soccer pitch. The Briobecca Urayasu Soccer Club play here regularly. Ask at reception for when the next match is on as there is a fun and energetic atmosphere during their games.

The state-of-the-art sports center is located in sprawling parklands, which are the perfect spot for riding a bike or going for a run or gentle walk. Enjoy the fresh breeze that comes off the sea while you exercise.

The Urayasu Sports Park is open most days from morning until late evening. While guests are welcome to use the facilities, some areas are reserved for members. Ask at reception for full details on which facilities can be used and which may need booking in advance. During Japanese public holidays and on weekends, some facilities may be booked well in advance.

Urayasu Sports Park is located adjacent to Tokyo Disney Resort, and so it is easily reached on public transportation. Travel to the Maihama station, just 15 minutes’ walk away. Alternatively several buses go past it regularly.
