The hotel is beautiful. Very elegant. First class. During my visit the service union that serves the hotel was on strike and picketing outside the hotel entrance. They were horrible! Shouting loudly and banging on metal oil cans from 6am to 10pm. They were obnoxious. It is hard to have sympathy for them. The hotel was otherwise first rate.

Location to union square was a plus. Strikers and lack of ability to rent movies was a negative.

the rooms don't look like they do in the marketing images; massive strike outside that runs from 6:30am to 10pm. can hear it all the way up on the 26th floor; shower in room was broken; staff was nice, but they're dealing with an really tough piece of real estate
