About 100 kilometres from Gothenburg you will find a Swedish outdoors paradise, where relaxation meets picturesque nature.

If you're planning a holiday in Ulricehamn you can look forward to taking care of body and soul during a relaxing stay close to nature. Set your own pace and combine cultural experiences with complete relaxation.

The area surrounding Ulricehamn has been inhabited since the Stone Age, but the city itself is marked by its medieval origins. Back then the town was called Bogesund, but changed names in 1741 to Ulricehamn, in honour of Swedish queen Ulrika Eleonora.

Today many trips to Ulricehamn are characterised by wellness and recreation. The surrounding area has an impressive 95kilometres of car-free, paved bike trails to explore. Visitors can bring their own bikes or rent one in the town. During your stay you could set out to discover a whole range of different attractions, along the bike trail Sjuharadsrundan. You'll get an opportunity to visit Limmared to see glassworks as well as how the traditional glass products are created by hand - and maybe even try it out yourself.

If nature is what you’re looking for, you can bike through forests, open fields and nature reserves along the trail Atradalsleden. Add more culture to your visit by looking for ghosts at the mansion Torpa Stenhus and stroll around Ekehagens historic village. For a bit more excitement there's several mountain bike trails for different levels at Lassalyckans outdoors recreational area.

If biking isn't your think, you can go canoeing, hiking or fishing during your stay in Ulricehamn. During winter you should of course try out the skiing options. Ulricehamn Skicenter is one of the most popular winter sports establishments in southern Sweden.

Just as enjoyable as an active outdoors adventure is of course relaxing afterwards. During your weekend stay in Ulricehamn you will find no shortage of options for kicking back. At Ulricehamn kallbadhus you can go for a refreshingly cold swim in Lake Asunden all year round, and follow up with a massage. Experience a Swedish sauna at Ulricehamn swimming baths, where you can relax in a jacuzzi and try out saunas with different essential oils and salts. Why not spoil yourself with some proper spa treatments?

You can travel easily to Ulricehamn by train from several Swedish cities. The closest airport is Gothenburg's Landvetter Airport, about 50 minutes’ drive from Ulricehamn. Peace, tranquility and gorgeous nature is waiting for you in Ulricehamn.

Nice small hotel.
"Nice hotel, great breakfast, couldn't get a WiFi signal in our room which was just steps down from the lobby area. Hotel is farther out from downtown Ulricehamn which is great for visitors wanting to hike and enjoy the quiet. We were there only one night."

"We were so disappointed upon arrival at our apartment. We had specifically booked an apartment instead of a hotel room so that we'd have a separate lounging area while our son slept, but there was only a tiny kitchen, no living room, and no door to the bedroom. The bathroom was full of black mold. ..."
