Escape to the lake
Posted 13 Mar 2015 on HotelsJag Mandir is a quite wonderful and very different hotel experience. It is a beautiful property in the middle of the lake, with no more than about 8 rooms. Mostly it is a place for holding weddings or for the daily visitors who come by boat for an hour or two to have lunch and visit. The most wonderful part of staying on Jag Mandir is the night, when all the visitors have left there is only the staff and you, the dining room is tranquil and the city that surrounds the lake is alight. That moment of complete escape lets you feel why the summer palaces were built in the lake in the first place.

True Rajasthani hospitality

Pros: Hospitality, Food, Ambience
Cons: Insect Problem
The Jagmandhir Island palace hotel is one of the best options to stay at while in Udaipur, if you are willing to pay the premium...The location is within the city palace complex and getting everywhere is very convenient...the level of hospitatily is first-class and you do get treated like royal guests...the restaurant serves an amazing Laal Maas...and the bar has amazing panoramic views of the water and the surrounding hills...My only major problem with the place is the large number of bugs/insects in the gardens and outside the rooms...its hard to sit outside and enjoy the views after sunset, due to the bugs...i would highly recommend that the hotel invest in electric insect zappers to counter this problem!
