Disappointed stay for a 4 Star rated hotel

Posted 3 Apr 2018 on Hotels
The hotel was old, given a damaged wire hair dryer, when plug in whole room black out, called the front office and maintenance takes 10 minutes before they come to your room to fix it. I stayed there for 4 nights and they never change the bed sheets, pillow case and it stinks, always need to put a towel over my pillow case. Never vacuum or mop the floor. Most of the staffs don't speak English and we have communication problem. Breakfast was good. Service staffs at breakfast, front office an security were helpful.

Just ok. It looks better online than in person. Manager was not helpful. On major street.

Friendly staff, bathroom have a bit problems with water over floor, bed and pillows had bad smells that you need to asked for replacement with new. Good food, if you expect staying in three star hotel then it's good one.

Pleasant hotel in good location

Posted 18 Mar 2017 on Hotels
Pleasant hotel in a good location, a short walk to the beach which we had to ourselves. Room was large and so very spacious. It appears to be the best hotel in Tuy Hoa, which is not used to seeing foreign tourists (which is how they refer to westerners). It's a great place getting away from the hustle and bustle of some of the bigger places in Vietnam. Only gripe is that the hotel shows pictures of sunbeds by the pool and there aren't any. Only hard chairs. Price was good for this standard of hotel.

Kaya Hotel. Needs some staff training

Posted 13 Oct 2016 on Hotels
I didn't know what to expect at Kaya Hotel. I arrive daily early and was told they were full and the room wasn't ready. The hotel was not full, in fact when I did check in, I never saw another person on my floor. No problem, they looked after my luggage for me. The staff were friendly. But what seems to be the problem here, is a severe lack of staff training. I dined in all 3 areas that sell food. I have dined in all of them several times before with no problem. This time was a little different. The top restaurant on the 15th floor had great tasting food and great service. Their staff were very friendly and the food peortions were big. Well done. I had breakfast on the ground floor. Breakfast was ok. I had cereal and scrambled eggs and a juice. These were all good. But there was only green tea. Please supply black tea (liptons or the like). I tried the sausages. They were not nice, so didn't eat any more than 1 bite. Again, the staff were friendly and nice, but a bit of staff training, to show them what a bowl is, would help. I asked for one for my corn flakes and was handed a coffee mug. But the pool bar was where the problems were for this hotel. I was handed a menu by one of the staff (male) and I pointed to a vanilla ice cream milkshake and told him the name in Vietnamese. He bought me 2 scoops of ice cream. I said no and asked for the menu. A great girl brought it out to me and I showed what I had ordered. The fries with cheese I ordered was a very small serving too.

Great Experience

Posted 17 Jul 2016
Pros: Love the breakfast buffet selection. Room is spacious. The Japanese style tea area is a nice touch. We love it. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: The shower drain couldn't evacuate the water fast enough and water ended on the bathroom floor.
It was an overall great experience. Location is convenient.

Great Staff with good food

It was very good but beds were hard but to be expected in Vietnam. I am not sure it is worth a 4 star rating but very nice anyway.

Terrible 4 stars hotel

Posted 23 Jan 2016 on Hotels
The hotel is more like a two stars than a 4 stars. One thing which I found very disturbing was people are allowed to smoke in the eating area.many Flies were seen flying and landing on food . We had two rooms and there were problems with the bath rooms in both. One was fixed, but the other could not be fixed , water was leaking out on the floor every time we had a shower, which was dangerous. I can point out many other things are wrong with this hotel but I don't think management would care to take action by the look of it.
