Worst stay in years. Expedia shows it has Air/Con - it does not. At checkin I asked if the room had A/C and was told to my face YES. In the room it was baking. I asked reception to turn it on as it was switched off and they said they would. I called again 10 minutes later and they said they would. After 20 minutes I called again and just got rude "open the window as there is an electrical fault so it cannot be turned on" with clearly no intention of enabling the Air/Con. The following morning I was told the A/C was switched to heating and so could not be turned on. So reception had been bare faced lying. I contacted expedia and was further fobbed off leading to an offer of moving to another hotel, at 1am ? Really ? Based on inaccurate information. Not wanting to move at this time I agreed to a discount to stay. In order to open the window and let in slightly cooler air you have to have the curtains wide open due to their installation. The room is directly in front of reception and the front so the lights lit up the entire room. As the windows are open I ended up with bites all over me but to be fair this could have been bugs in the mattress given the state of them. The bathroom was disgusting, the edges of the shower had mould all over them, the floor was black with grime between the tiles. There were hairs in the shower. The hairdryer was damaged. During the night it rained, with the window open I got the full benefit of the rain on the large plastic roof skylights.

A nice place to stay

Hotel Rivoli is a great hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are spotlessly clean.
