The hotel is beautiful, BUT we didn’t get the tour around the villa and the cleansing ceremony because of unknown reasons. It led to some confusion, ie, finding the restaurants and the activity spots. We missed one of our yoga class in the morning because it took too much time to find the proper place and some of the staff aren’t that helpful.
One line summary: hotel is nice but the service needs improvement

Things are not as they seem at Azulik. Architecture is stunning, however there is not lights in the room instead only candles. There is no hot water so if you want to use the expensive soaking tub you’ll have to shiver the entire time. The jungle villas are dark, decrepit and worn down. I would recommend staying elsewhere since the price tag does not accurately reflect what you get and visiting Azulik just to walk around the property,

The price-to-value ratio is far too high. The property positions itself as a 5-star luxury hotel; however, the service falls short and barely reflects 2 stars at best. The staff is unprepared to handle unusual situations, such as emergencies requiring urgent medical help. Travelers should keep in mind that it may take 30 minutes for an ambulance to arrive, and the staff seems unsure of what to do in the meantime.
The prices at the restaurant and for other services are unreasonably high, which is evident in the Google ratings for the dining options. For morning yoga, the instructor didn’t show up, and the staff attempted to resolve this by asking a different staff member (who was not a yoga teacher) to lead the class. This was obvious to everyone and not a professional way to handle the situation.
The staff also didn’t inquire about our satisfaction or request feedback, which speaks volumes. While the architecture of the property is spectacular, I recommend visiting the rooftop for a drink and sunset views rather than staying at the hotel itself—it simply isn’t worth it.
