A magnificent 19th-century building and riverside jewel that is now host to one of Queensland’s biggest casinos and entertainment precincts.

Marvel at the beautiful façade of Brisbane’s old sandstone Treasury Building with its architectural hints of 16th-century Italy. Step inside to enjoy the many fun activities on offer within.

See one of the nightly entertainment shows in one of the casino bars. Visit the games floor to observe hundreds of tables and machines in action. Dine in style at one of the casino’s five restaurants, where international cuisines are prepared by renowned chefs. Children are welcome in the restaurants during certain hours so check ahead if you are travelling with the family.

Surround yourself in the history of what was once the state government’s office and stay at the glamourous hotel located within the building. High ceilings and traditional furnishings create an atmosphere of old-world charm in the middle of this modern city.

Admire the beauty of the Treasury Building from the Queen Street Mall outside while you enjoy one of the regular public events. Taste some home-grown produce and sip a coffee with the locals at the weekly farmers market. Find a bargain at the fortnightly markets in which locals sell vintage clothes, jewellery and bric-a-brac. Bring your dancing shoes to an outdoor salsa gathering in the mall.

Jump on the open-top double-decker tour bus that leaves from outside the Treasury Building and take a look around the city from up high. Tickets can be purchased online or through a travel agent.

The Treasury Building is close to public bus, train and ferry services and is located in the Queen Street Mall in Brisbane’s central business district. The casino’s 24-hour games floor is only accessible to adults over 18 years of age.

Walk over the adjacent William Jolly Bridge to arrive at the theatres and galleries of the cultural district. Stroll for 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) from the casino along the river to reach the peaceful City Botanic Gardens. Trains to Brisbane’s domestic airports leave from the nearby central station.
