I used Expedia to book my stay at the Cherry Tree Inn & Suites in Traverse City, MI. I made the reservation for 6 people. We drove 4 hours to stay at this hotel. When we arrived we were put into a room with 2 Queen Beds. When I brought this up to the front desk, I was informed that my room actually was to sleep 4 with a MAX of 5 if we paid for a rollout bed. I told her that this was a mathematical impossibility as I made the reservation for 6 people and arrived with my 6 people. She then took a minute to compute what I had said and brought out another person who was able to move our group of 6 to a room that could accommodate and still stay compliant to the fire code. It was a room with 1 King Bed and a Pull Out Sofa. Still cant sleep 6. So they provided 2 roll out beds and then proceeded to tell me that there is a charge for the roll out beds but that they will be waiving them due to the inconvenience. Everything was fine until checkout when I saw on my receipt that I was being charged! Then they proceeded to tell me that there was nothing that they could do since the manager had just left and to call back on Monday. Now I cant get through to anyone. I would NOT recommend staying here just based on this service alone. There are plenty of other options in Traverse City that I would consider before ever staying here again.

Staff was pesonable and polite. Welcome Cookies were nice. Breakfast was good. Having different buildings was great for privacy. It was very awkward getting in and out of the inroom jacuzzi.

I stayed here over Thanksgiving in 2023 and loved it. I chose it because of the shuttle, breakfast and rooms with fireplace and jacuzzi. I booked again in 2024 for all of these services again. When I booked they said they had shuttle service but they changed this to only weekend and then they were going to stop the shuttle completely over the winter. Unfortunately, the shuttle was the main seller of the hotel and we will not return unless it's available everyday over next Thanksgiving.

Room was clean except found puzzle pieces under dining room chairs-we did not bring puzzle. Using fireplace caused exhaust smell in the room bathroom. Chair in room needs new webbing for support. Unfortunately, room was noisy with outside traffic noise and sound of elevator being used. Staff was helpful and friendly.
