Hotel Vendôme is an old-fashioned place, situated in the heart of the city, very close to the Tour railway station. My room was located separately from the others, it was big, clean, quiet and comfortable, but had no WiFi, and so, every time I needed to connect to the internet I had to go to the breakfast area. I felt sorry to bother the owners with this, particularly early in the morning, but I needed the latest weather forecast and train timetable info and so, I had no choice. But all in all, as I said, I'm quite happy with my stay in this hotel. Would recommend.

Hotel to be avoided. Hotel which obviously doesn't care about the customers but cares about money. The owner is more bothered about renovating outer buildings to create addititional rooms. Cold welcome and owner demanded for the holiday tax to be paid immediately on arrival in cash although I wanted to pay by card and I hadn't seen the room yet. I had to ask him 3 times for a receipt which he relunctantly gave me in the end. Bottom sheet was stained and again I had to insist for it to be changed. The mattress cover was also stained and covered with different colour hairs. Disgusting. No apology offered. Don' t bother paying more for the de luxe room like I did as nothing is de luxe in the room. Balcony gives onto the street so no view. The bathroom is tiny and had to sit sideway on toilet although I am petite. The tv is too high, right under the ceiling, the sound is set to a fixed volume and the signal is terrible so good luck if you want to watch a programme. I really felt unwelcome and the owner was not even there when I left to say goodbye. The only good thing is that it is near the town centre where you can have a cheaper breakfast.

If we had to change the mattress protectors after each guest, and only work with new sheets for each guest, I think you paid the room more than the 50 euros the night you paid. If this is the kind of standard you are looking for, why not book in a 4 star hotel? We are an eco-friendly hotel, we use eco-certified detergents and cleaning products, without whitening agent (very bad for the environment) the gray linen so with time and some stains resist, but the linen is washed and ironed, it is therefore completely clean and breast. The mattress protectors are washed regularly, but not every day. When the laundry becomes too gray after 3 years, It is given to charities. The price of our breakfast (9 euros) is justified because of its 100% organic nature. The balconies of the houses in the city center are 90% street-facing, and the view of the hotel rooms on the street side overlooks a beautiful carved tufa facade (there is worse ..) In all hotels the sound of televisions is bridled to prevent noise disturbing neighboring rooms. Each hotel has its billing policy, ours and send the bills at the end of the stay. It was not necessary to claim yours each day .... Yes you had paid the room in advance on expedia, if that had not been the case, and in view of the scandal that you made in the establishment at 11 pm in the evening for an indelible stain half a cm2 on a cloth, and your request to a person who was not at all his duties and outside his hours of service to change the sheet. I would have asked you to leave the establishment the next day, so you were lucky. Finding a hotel downtown in Tours in July for 50 euros would have been a challenge. A room of 16m2 with balcony, tastefully decorated, equipped with very good bedding, air conditioning ..... As for my unilateral incentive for money rather than for my clients, here is the list of investments mad

It was very easy to access the train station, and just around the corner were pastry shops, a BK, a laundromat, and bank machines. However, being seniors, we found it too demanding to have to climb 2 flights of rickety stairs several times a day, let alone lug heavy suitcases up and down. Also, internet reception at night was hit and miss.

Small hotel close to centre, reasonably priced

Posted 26 Nov 2017
Pros: Good value hotel very conveniently located close to centre.
Cons: Parts of the hotel required redecoration following alterations, but the latter were clearly very recent and this will doubtless be done soon.
Location: Location close to the Loire and all central facilities. Parking difficult and expensive, though free overnight on nearby main road (tram route).
We received a friendly greeting. The rooms were comfortable and quiet - with the windows closed, traffic noise outside was effectively blocked. The shower room was clean and well-equipped, except that only one bath towel was provided in a double room. We didn't opt for breakfast, so can't comment on that.

Terrible Hotel

Posted 17 Oct 2017
This was a terrible hotel and uncaring hotel staff and or owner. Outside of our room was old and it looked like construction had started but never finished. Dangerous staircase rail. So flimsy you could break your neck. Inside the room was just as terrible. Broken furniture, filthy wall, doors, carpet, and shower curtain. The blankets we very old and looked dirty. The offer no amenities or do the change your towels despite putting them on the floor. When I expressed my dissatisfaction about the room the women said nothing. She acted surprised. I'm asking for my money back. This place was horrible. Oh yeah no on warned us about the construction going on. We had no quiet time to rest. Take my advice go elsewhere. See pictures.
