Great place to stay, affordable & convenient!
Posted 18 Mar 2024 on HotelsI stayed here for most of a 2-week combined business/pleasure trip. I'd never stayed in Ikebukuro before, but liked the area, it's easy to get anywhere from, and the Keio Presso Inn was the best deal I found at the time. (It's why I ended up in Ikebukuro.)
The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the train station; it's only a 4-minute walk to the nearest entrance to the underground, and the station is pretty easy to navigate for such a major interchange. (Nothing like the nightmare that's Shinjuku :-0)
I could have found (slightly) cheaper rooms, but wanted something larger than the standard 118 square-foot size because I had a fair bit of luggage and would spend good amounts of time in the room working.
The room is not only larger than standard, but there's ample under-bed storage so I could tuck all my bags out of the way yet still get to them easily.
The staff has very limited English, but it was easy enough to communicate with Google Translate on my phone, and I found them to be extremely pleasant and helpful.
I didn't avail myself of the breakfast (included in the price at the time, I understand it's now an added charge), so can't comment on that, but the whole experience was great, and Ikebukuro is a fascinating area to explore: Tons of restaurants, bars and music venues are just a few minutes walk from the hotel, and the whole area has a very "young" vibe to it, which I like.
Highly recommended!
