Very much recommneded
Posted 6 Jun 2022 on HotelsThe B&B was excellent, with a friendly owner and sparkling clean rooms. Their attention to minute things, such as leaving complimentary packed juice for our kids, made the stay even more comfortable. Even though we arrived late, they did not charge for the late arrival fee, which was mentioned before our arrival, making the trip even better.

Short family break in Torquay
Posted 15 Oct 2021 on HotelsLovely B&B. The owners were amazingly kind and the service was excellent. Super breakfast and comfy, clean rooms. Showers a little lacking on power and one was tiny but was perfectly adequate for a short stay. Definitely one to recommend.

October in Torquay
Posted 13 Oct 2021 on HotelsExcellent hotel in a very good location - 20 minute walk to central Torquay. The breakfast was excellent, the service fabulous and we were upgraded to a larger room which was lovely. The only possible downsides are the wifi is intermittent and the shower a bit pathetic.

Adequate, but could be better for the money.
Posted 11 Sep 2021 on HotelsAs a single traveller I was given a very small room. Adequate, but only about 10ft x 10ft.
There was an en-suite shower room. Again quite small. I also thought it was a bit expensive considering the size of the room and the Netley's location.
Parking could be a big problem if the place was full, since a maximum of 4 cars can use the off road parking. Otherwise its street parking.
This is not really a Hotel and could do with some modernising. Particularly common area lighting and modern sockets with USB connection.
Mike was helpful, but I don't think he fully understood the danger of locking guests in with a mortice lock, on the entrance door, with instructions for guests to also do this. This is particularly dangerous, in the event of a fire, when the last thing on your mind is trying to find keys, to exit quickly. He has promised to address this issue ASAP.
I felt very uncomfortable with this situation as it is, particularly since I suffered badly, in a Hotel fire in Chicago, with locked fire escapes, some years ago.

Superb BnB in Torquay
Posted 23 Aug 2021 on HotelsWe have just returned from a great week at the Netley, Mike and Angie are superb hosts, the room we had was spotlessly clean and comfortable, their attention to detail is evident all around the property. Breakfast was excellent with all options available, Mike cannot do enough for you and we especially loved the fruit compote each morning. We used Torquay as a base to explore the South Devon area, loads of things to do, however if holidaying in peak season booking for restaurants is essential as the town gets extremely busy. Overall a wonderful stay with lovely hosts.
