We would definitely return if we visit Torquay again.

Helpful and friendly

Grosvenor House Stay September 2023
Posted 11 Sep 2023 on HotelsWe stayed at Grosvenor House for a couple of nights. The property is well kept and maintained. Only one thing I would say is we missed air-conditioning during the hot weather. Parking slots are very tight and if you have a new car and worry about someone banging their doors into your car body, be prepared to park somewhere else!

Thank you for your review and kind comments on cleanliness. We are disappointed you mention air conditioning in your review, as you had asked prior to your stay. Our property, as explained is an extended Edwardian house. The sash windows, if used properly provide a good fresh air flow and AC is not necessary and not cost-effective to install for the 2-3 days of extreme temperatures we get in the UK each year. Likewise, car-parking which is discussed in so many of our reviews. At danger of repetition, a history lesson! As a Victorian seaside resort, most of Torquay was built in the 1800s, our property in 1907, still years before cars were mass-produced in the UK. 120 years later, we can accommodate 7 average size cars (but not if they are all big 21st century vans, people carriers, SUVs etc). We work hard with guests and ask you all to work with us to find everyone a space. Yes the area is tight (no different to a supermarket car park), but we are still in a better position than many B&Bs in the area who have very limited or no parking. If guests wish to park elsewhere, then, as you are aware there is free on-street parking opposite,

As a family of 3 we had the family room which was big,clean and cosy. The owners make us feel very welcome, being very kind and friendly. The property is on a walking distance from the beach and town centre. I highly recommend it. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant
