The proprietor was extremely rude. He refused to give us wine glasses or ice. The restaurant didn’t have much of a selection, and the food wasn’t good.

Dear mister alward, you have a strange way to thank us for : - giving you a twin room instead of the kingbed booked - letting you having diner almost half an hour after the closing of the restaurant - finally giving you glasses to to drink you own wine, you own beers, in the room ( 5 liters alcool for 2 people)

Bed Bugs Unsympathetic Owner

Posted 22 Oct 2017 on Hotels
My husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary, arrived later in the day, no one was at the desk but the owner/manager Jean-Marc works both the desk and restaurant. He was pleasant and welcomed us. We told him we were excited to arrive, celebrating and would like to have a bottle of Champagne after dropping our bags in the room. Asked how to operate the air con he commented that was strange to need it but showed us the operation. My husband opened the window slightly to cool until it kicked in. We went to enjoy our Champagne and this is where it ALL WENT WRONG. We went back to the room to prepare for sleep. I travel all over the world for my job so my habit it to always check the beds for any "Unwelcomed guests" well my husband went to get into the bed before I checked and he said OH NO.. I looked at him, small and crawling under one of the pillows was a BED BUG, my heart sank! I began a search, another one under the mattress cover and another one on the side of the bed frame. I immediately called Jean-Marc asked him to come to the room, we had bed bugs. We put them on a piece of tissue to show him. he was agitated when arrived. He denied they were bed bugs, said it was the open window, scolded us for "tearing the bedding apart" to search. He said just move to another room (? more bugs?) at midnight, we were SO tired, SO disgusted and he made us feel at fault. TERRIBLE manager and experience. Not even a discount offered! A happy memory turned to a NIGHTMARE!

First of all, fortunately we don't have bedbugs. no customers even this one has ever been subget to BYTES. The cleanliness of our hotel is regularly pointed by our customers on site and even on reviews portals. This customer consumed his bottle of champagne in the room. The call happended 3 hours after they get upstairs with ligts on and opended window in countryside autumn. when we are awakened at midnight, an OCD matter is not enjoyable. the room was upside down. Considering the travel occasion, she only mentioned visiting real estate for investment, for wich i gave her directions the next morming visits. This anniversary seems pretended As a family run business we (my partner and i) occupy most jobs of this small hotel restaurant, that's why i wasn't waiting her at the desk, but in the room next door, serving meals in the dining room. It was almost 8:30 pm and she was the last checkin. About expected discount, we only made one when our liability is really engaged. in this case, it felt all setup.....

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Near beaches and the nice town of Pornic
This is a new construction with a very nice design. Good size room with private patio. There is a swimming pool with area to sit in the soon or in the shade. The breakfast is very good. The owner are very welcoming and will give you advise about what to visit around with maps provided to us. It is one of the best place we stayed so far. It is to be recommend. Nothing need to be change.

We needed a couple of rooms in this area for business . The hotel is easy to find, very quiet, adequately appointed. Comfortable bedrooms very helpful and friendly staff and wonderful breakfast and dinner. We couldn't have asked for more. We will be back.

Short but perfect stay

Posted 18 Jul 2024 on Hotels
We booked a night in the family room for our overnight stay during our travel to the south of France. The family room was large and comfortable including AC. The breakfast was nicely prepared and offers a great selection. The owners of the place are very caring and nice, they really make you feel at home.
