Noisy

Posted 18 Sep 2017
The room was fine. It was however very noisy. The noise from the road, the bar and the nearby clock spoilt the stay

Room okay, don't eat the breakfast

Posted 29 Aug 2017 on Hotels
Room was fine, comfortable and clean. Bathroom clean but not practical. No-where to put toiletries except a high window sill. Could do with a towel rail next to the basin. Had breakfast on first morning, yuk. Anaemic sausage and the mushrooms tasted like they were boiled in last year's oil. Couldn't even finish it. Went to the tea room/café next door the next morning, they do fab breakfasts from 8.30am onwards. Would definitely recommend eating elsewhere to anyone staying in the hotel. Staff were fairly pleasant but just employees not owners, and it shows. They do the bare minimum and just don't care about the place. Ate in hotel one evening as it was steak night. Food okay, but nothing to shout about.

A very pleasant surprise!

Pros: Location. Car parking. Friendly staff. Lots of towels provided. Bar had some interesting beer on draft.
Cons: A proper desk to work at for people on business. However, there may be some rooms with desks, I didn't ask.
Location: Tiverton town centre so easy access to all shops etc. and a good spot to tour from.
I stay in Tiverton occasionally and I think the Twyford has only recently become a hotel. Previously it was a pub. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. My room was comfortable, recently fitted out, and very clean. I had a slight gripe in that I need to do my e-mails in the evening and there was no desk, but I managed to make use of the TV table - a little cramped but worked ok. Breakfast was full English and very generous. Real coffee as well! Excellent and safe car parking. I will have no hesitation in returning.

Wouldn't recommend

Posted 11 Aug 2017 on Hotels
Family room had a dead animal/rotten milk smell that we couldn't get rid of even leaving the window open. Night club less than a block away so every evening is filled with drunken fights right below window. Even had the pleasure of watching someone arrested. So not a great area at all. Shabby exterior around parking lot, trash on ground. But staff was very pleasant. Wouldn't recommend.
