The operator of the facility is so nice. I guess they are families and which giving you a very warm feeling despite the facility is a bit remote from the town. Love thus place.

Cafe Pension Feldbergblick

Posted 17 Sep 2018
Pros: Yes
Cons: It is accepting cards for payment.
Location: You are only 30 minutes away from Freiburg. Both Tittisee and Schluchsee are both within 15-20 minutes away and have boats trips.
The guesthouse was situated in a very pleasant area of the Black Forest, over 1000 metres above sea level. Excellent views, a car is essential. There are plenty of pleasant walks in the area and a number of places you can obtain an evening meal close by. The black forest gateaux was excellent for afternoon cake and coffee. Just be aware you need to have cash to settle your bill at the end of your stay. This is quite common in Germany.

Enjoyable

Posted 6 Nov 2017 on Hotels
Location in the middle of no-where, one needs a car to go places, Titisee was 8kms down the road and there was only 1 restaurant within walking distance - if one likes hiking, etc, it's a good location. Negative items: the pillow (not comfortable), the noise of the frig (should put it into a cabinet), no meals in the cafe and one had to pay the entire bill with cash even though the room was booked through Hotels.com and we had to leave our credit card information - this was not mentioned before we got there, was happy we had the cash to pay our bill . Positive: free WiFi, free parking, amazing homemade cakes, great teas, good breakfast (wasn't buffet but one could order what one wanted while a plate of meats/cheeses & butter/jam/Nutella/honey/cheese spreads + a basket of mixed brotchens and a small glass of orange juice were already provided, one didn't leave the table hungry) - staff were very friendly and helpful in answering our questions - hotel also allows dogs which was great. Room and bathroom were nice, bed was comfortable - it is a family run pension so they are very family oriented and make the most amazing, tasty homemade cakes and tortes, people come from all over to enjoy them, when the weather nice is, one can enjoy them on their balcony with a cute view of the farmer fields and houses surrounding their cafe.

A walk in the Black Forest

Posted 19 Oct 2013 on Hotels
Spent several nights in this typical Black Forest accommodation. Rooms were quite large and very clean with bathroom amenities reasonably modern. Breakfast was served in the Cafe downstairs. Location is out of the way and you would only stay here if you had your own transport. Dinner is only at the one restaurant about 400 metres up the road or back in Neustadt about 8 kilometres away. Overall a pleasant stay but we aware of the location.

Nice family owned place in the mountains

Somewhat hard to find off the beaten tracks. Typical old German, family owned and operated hopitality. Not very fancy room, but great breakfast and friendly service. We enjoyed the stay.
