Blocks off the beach. Beach sand coral and coarse. Host is responsive and provides a concierge. Access to surfing spots. Seasonal temperature and humidity is bordering intolerable. Political graffiti is ever present. Beautiful islands, third world charm. Overwhelming Muslim environment, including social restrictions. Safe and fair value, fantastic effort by host and concierge as much as possible. Long and pricey taxi by boat ($50 a couple each way) to arrive at the property. Noise disturbances of an on going local election, and daily calls to prayer. We appreciate the host an concierge, however would not repeat.

I booked Midsummer because it had a 9.6 Guest Rating. Sadly, it was only 4 reviews and these people were mistaken badly. Midsummer is completely bare bones experience. No hot water, no toiletries, no windows, no TV, and only accepts cash payments (the only hotel I have ever had such an experience). They claim to have bicycles, but there is only one and it’s an ancient kids bike held together with rope. Plus it is a walk to the beach. There are better choices right on the beach that are comparable on price. Pass on this flophouse. However, I will give a shout out to Ravit, the lone employee. He does everything from transportation to cooking to cleaning (though my room was only cleaned once in 5 nights). Ravit is a good guy and this rating does not diminish his efforts

This is the first 2/5 review in 6 years in all the platforms. We value your comments very seriously.I agree that no windows, no TV, no card machine and need 3 mins walk to the beach are our flaws. That's why we have our housekeeper Rafiq 24*7 in the guesthouse to provide the good service and reacte to guest's request immediately. We do not have toiletries for environmental protection reasons. But we didn't explain this in the introduction. And the bicycle condition was not updated in time after the bikes were damaged. I am very sorry for your inconvenience. This reminds me to timely update the information on the platform according to the situation in the future.It was a pity that you did not report the "no hot water" situation to him and gave him a chance to deal with this problem. Rafiq did concern about the cleaness of your room everyday. He noticed that you were very neat and kept everything clean in the room, that's why didn't want to disturb without your request. Once agian I am very sorry that Midsummer didn't give you a good memory. Please send me your bank account number, I would like to return your room rent to express my apology and thank you for your correction.Best regards, Vicky

Midsummer Thulastho in Maldives is a budget-friendly hotel that offers comfortable rooms and a satisfying morning breakfast. While not luxurious, it provides good value for money and convenient access to the beautiful surroundings of the Maldives.

The guesthouse is an absolute gem, offering both comfort and all the amenities one could need. The rooms are spacious, featuring a large, incredibly comfortable bed, air conditioning, and are always impeccably clean. A special highlight is the wonderful housekeeper, Rafiq, who goes above and beyond to ensure a perfect holiday. We opted for full board and were blown away by Rafiq's culinary skills. The food was of the highest quality and absolutely delicious – we’re convinced we couldn’t have had a better dining experience anywhere else on the island. Additionally, Rafiq helps organize excursions and even personally accompanies guests to the meeting points. He is a fantastic, helpful individual who makes the stay truly unforgettable. The house manager, Vicky, also took excellent care of us. Despite our significant flight delay, everything ran smoothly thanks to her attentive support. We are truly grateful for the wonderful time we had here and can highly recommend this guesthouse.

We got along very well from the start. Large room with comfortable bed, climate control, ceiling fan and clothesline. Bathroom with more than sufficient shower including hairdryer. Abundant breakfast, every day a different type of fruit as well as eggs, sausages, toast with butter and jam, coffee, milk and juice. The structure is central to the village, 2 minutes walk from Bikini beach and 12 minutes walk from Dreams Beach. In the surrounding area, a few minutes walk, there are restaurants, cafes, markets and souvenirs. Who governs everything is Rafiq, always present, kind, thoughtful and widely available. The evening before closing he makes sure that the guests are in the rooms. We also met the "boss" Vicky, a very kind lady. For us all is really good. Antonio e Carmen

I was solo traveling for a week to the Maldives. I had a really good time staying with Midsummer. Vicky was very helpful with preparing me for everything I need before my trip and the housekeeper helped with everything doing my stay, like helping me to find a place to buy a snorkelling mask. I had a lovely breakfast every morning and occasionally dinner which was very cheap. The place was clean and tidy. All in all I would most definitely like to came back for a visit again, also with a friend or partner.

Fui muito bem recebido e atendido pelo Abir. O quarto é bem espaçoso, com ar condicionado e ventilador de teto, essenciais pra região. É um destino e uma hospedagem que recomendo nas Maldivas.
