1. Ljubljana Castle
Tour Ljubljana Castle (Ljubljanski grad), an iconic city landmark and a place to discover centuries of Slovene history. Perched atop the wooded Castle Hill, the castle rises above Ljubljana’s medieval Old Town with a mishmash of defensive walls, towers and turrets. Much of the complex dates to the 16th century but evidence suggests that there has been a castle here since the 12th century. In its long history Ljubljana Castle has served as a garrison, prison and royal residence.

2. Dragon Bridge
Dragon Bridge (Zmajski most) is a fairytale-like bridge that crosses the Ljubljanica River to the Old Town of Ljubljana. Stroll across the bridge, appreciate its craftsmanship and admire its decorative statues. The bridge opened to the public in 1901 and was originally known as the Jubilee Bridge of Emperor Franz Joseph I. It replaced an old wooden bridge and is one of Europe’s earliest examples of a reinforced concrete bridge.

8. Franciscan Church of the Annunciation
The Franciscan Church of the Annunciation (Frančiškanska cerkev) is a magnificent Baroque landmark with impressive architectural features and elegant interior designs. Augustinian monks built the church during the mid-1600s. Toward the end of the 18th century, Franciscan monks occupied the church and added to its appearance. Note that today’s Franciscan Church of the Annunciation is the result of renovations following an earthquake in 1895.
