Mount Snowdon lies at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, an area of unspoiled natural beauty in Central Wales. At 3,560 feet, it is the tallest mountain in Wales and the tallest in the UK outside the Scottish Highlands. Voted the most haunted place in Wales, Bodelwyddan Castle in North Wales is popular among both the living and the dead. The 500-year-old castle is a partner of the National Portrait Gallery and its many rooms and corridors are filled with rare artworks, while there's also plenty to entertain the kids for a family-friendly day out.

Harlech Castle is a stunning medieval fort rising high above Snowdonia National Park and listed by UNESCO as one of Wales' six World Heritage Sites. The castle has had a prominent role in many of the definitive moments in British history and is an unmissable stop on any tour of North Wales.

The wide red boardwalk separates the road from the beach in this scenic zone, where pantomime puppets and paddling pools take prominent positions.
