4. National Wallace Monument

The National Wallace Monument is a tower of Gothic Revival design atop the Abbey Craig hilltop. It is a shrine to the iconic Scottish hero Sir William Wallace, a leader of the Wars of Scottish Independence. The statue, which was constructed in 1869, is a major symbol of Scottish national identity and pride.
