In Queensland’s Sunshine Coast Hinterland, you will find, if you like a good 4x4 drive, Booloumba Cascades and Falls. With crystal waters and wonderful walks, you can even take a swim here. Part of Conondale National Park, certainly worth a night or two camping in the dedicated camping areas. #nationalparks #nature #queensland #roadtrip #daytrip #4x4 #troverrt

Possibly the strangest thing I've come across in the bush. You can find the "Strangler Cairn" in the Conondale NP in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

When we saw the signposted turn off we were definitely intrigued and weren't sure what to expect. It is a very impressive piece, and I look forward to the surroundings recovering from the construction and for the strangler fig planted in the top to grow. Something to come back to throughout your lifetime and watch as the fig encases the rock.

There was some controversy around the commissioning of this art installation piece given the amount it cost and the fact that it can only be reached by walking a couple of KM into the bush.

I think it's kind of cool.
