Coimadai
A great place just outside of Melbourne to go for a hike, lots of trails available from what I've been told but I went on the 10k circuit track and it was beautiful.
There where a couple of steep hills to climb resulting in some nice views, then you head down along the river which I found really peaceful. A couple of areas along the track there are some nice places to sit down and enjoy the scenery as well.

Pentland Hills

While there might not be top attractions in Pentland Hills, you can explore the larger area and discover places like Werribee Gorge State Park and Bacchus Marsh Council Trench Geological Reserve.
