Had to wait for staff to get to the front desk at normal check in time of 500pm and this person enjoyed eating a slice of pizza all during my check in. Having been in the hospitality business, I felt this wasn't appropriate. Otherwise, hotel was clean and convenient for my needs.

Beautiful unique old hotel. We stayed there because of loving history. The staff person was cordial but had no knowledge of the history. The hotel had many open, nice rooms, but we were given a room that had water damaged ceiling with ceiling parts hanging down, water damaged, discolored wall paper, not clean.

We just installed a new roof and have not yet repaired all the ceilings that had been damaged. Our policy is that if you want to change rooms we are willing. We are very sorry that you had a poor experience as we continue to be dedicated to save this 123 year old Hotel by working continuously in improving the property. I am not sure who you talked to about the history, but assure you that we LOVE to share The Historic Kempton Hotel's amazing story.

Hidden gem
Posted 24 Mar 2024 on HotelsI have been staying at the Kempton for several years now. As a single, older woman, I have always felt safe and comfortable. The hotel is so charming, decorated in old western motif. I was a little taken back this trip, when I found out the pet fee had been raised to $35, which is about half of what the room costs. I understand that some people can ruin it for others and this won’t stop me from staying there.
