Hotel is so pretty. The room where we stayed perfectly decorated, with a beautiful view, clean, comfortable. Breakfast delicious and very complete; excellent attention of the staff; the common areas quiet. Totally recommended if you want to get rest and relax.

I did not like that the property is hard to find, but like any treasure once you find it, it is worth it. Such an amazing place. Excellent customer service. I just wish we could stay more days, but due to Covid, they have to sanitized the rooms and you are only allowed to stay certain time. The breakfast was delicious. I will definitely be back.

If you are looking for high quality and attention to detail Arete is the place to stay. The owner is clearly a detailed oriented manager and it shows in a positive manner. High quality comfortable linens, pleasant decor, peaceful and relaxed gardens. The staff is excellent and accommodating. They arranged for excellent tours, direction to the best shopping, and informed us of local history and culture. I want to live at Arete!

Tranquility in Tepoztlan
The Hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the centre which is extremely colourful and lively at weekends. The Hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is kept immaculately by the owners who were very nice and nothing was to much trouble for them. It was possible to eat in the Hotel for breakfast lunch and evening meL and the service was superb. It really is the ideal place for a quiet getaway with only 5 guestrooms but you do have the option of a bustling small town only ten minutes away.

Wonderful retreat, a gem of a find!
As Arete is brand new and there were not many reviews or photos we were not sure what to expect. However, we could not have been more delighted with our stay at this lovely, welcoming retreat just outside of the town of Tepotzlan. The grounds are lovely with beautifully maintained gardens, accented with inviting lawn chairs and tables. There is a small pool to enjoy after a sauna. Massage is also available although we did not use the services on this visit. The dining area is right on the terrace so one feels they are actually outside. One can enjoy beverages there or in the yard at any time and light snacks are also available just by ringing a bell. Our room, on the first floor was large and spacious with a beautiful tiled bathroom. We enjoyed the room with a sitting area very much. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the sound of the birds that we could hear through the open windows in the morning. There were several enticing offerings for dinner, or an array of lighter fare to choose from instead. We enjoyed a wonderful fire in the evening during our dinner. The breakfast was wonderful- fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and toast with jam. Additionally there were other items to choose from- eggs and some traditional Mexican dishes. The staff and service are top shelf. David, the manager is always available and eager to make his guest's stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. We loved Arete and did not want to leave. We recommend this lovely retreat highly
