It was as expected. A traditional country pub with 3 letting rooms. Lovely staff.

Disastrous
Posted 30 Apr 2021 on HotelsHotel was closed . They took the payment but didn’t bother to say they were closed. It’s 3 days later and I still haven’t heard anything about a refund . I have already phoned up twice and been told I’d be rung back with nobody having an idea of what a solution would be .

Sorry you found us closed all bookings made if for when the pub is still shut have been sent an email asking them to cancel and then the booking engine used will refund if you have paid them upfront.
I am sorry if you didn’t get the email in time to do this

Friendly pub with lots of character.
Posted 16 Oct 2020 on HotelsThe staff here are very friendly and accommodating. The food here was excellent, both evening meal and breakfast. The only downsides was the old mattress on the bed which made for not the best nights sleep. The room was really quirky and well maintained.

Staff fantastic. Ate in the pub for dinner on night of arrival. Food was excellent, especially breakfast. Quirky bedrooms with modern bathrooms, immaculate.
Would recommend and will return.

Good stopping place

COVID stay
Posted 2 Sep 2020 on HotelsThe hotel was comfortable and the room clean, however, the management / reception were not enforcing rules for the wearing of face masks in communal areas of the hotel. This is not acceptable, will not be staying again.
I did eat in the restaurant the food and service was good quality.

I am sorry you felt we were not enforcing the wearing of masks in the communal areas. As you know we are primarily a pub so this is the overriding aspect of the comprehensive risk assessment we completed. Wearing of masks is not required in pubs and restaurants at present, of course all guests have the choice to wear a mask should they wish to.
