I had a decent experience there, however the description on Orbitz needs updating to be more accurate. First and foremost, this is a hostel, not a hotel/motel. That means shared bedrooms as well as shared WCs and kitchen. I was startled to find three very old Russians ready to share the room I had had to myself for three days at 10 PM at night. The Orbitz description had listed my room as a twin room with bunk beds. Well, it had six twin bunk beds and was clearly a hostel room, not a twin bed room. Thursday night it turned into a hostel room, complete with snores from the older men. In addition Orbitz indicated the property was in the center of the city. Hardly. It was in a southern suburb and it was above a mechanic's workshop and next to a cement (?) plant. Not the most salacious of locations. There was a lot of drilling noise during the day. In addition they built new bathrooms and washing up facilities while I was there. That was noisy. Other details: It seems everybody but I spoke Russian. At times with the families and children, it felt like staying in a Russian family's old large house. I'm not saying that that is a bad thing, just something to be reckoned with. And, finally, there is no free shuttle to the airport as Orbitz indicated. Instead, it is expensive.

Affordable Hostel
Posted 26 Jan 2019 on HotelsMevaser was a simple hostel, nothing fancy, but the price is fair. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a good place to stay after arriving in Tel Aviv. They were very quick to respond to our questions and gave us very detailed instructions on how to call for their shuttle when we arrived in Tel Aviv. They are in the process of renovations. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It was very peaceful. The Wi-Fi was good and there are several shopping centers nearby. It is not near the real touristy areas, but the bus lines are nearby. The one downside is you need a bus card to ride the busses and there are not a lot of areas to purchase them. We had to go to the Central Bus Station in central Tel Aviv to purchase our bus cards, then it was about a half an hour back by bus to Mevaser.

Its a hidden gem, tucked away in a peaceful building near many special places in a quiet neighborhood with wonderful shops and restaurants, grocery stores and a big post office nearby. Lots of buses and train station nearby. Beautiful atmosphere, ample kitchen access, big showers always hot water.

I had a wonderful stay at the Christian Guest House and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.
My flight was delayed so I arrived late but the staff arranged my transport from the Airport to the Guest House which made everything trouble free.
Thanks so much, Mesaver!
One thing to note is to use this phone number:

Awful location and cleanliness needs improvement!
Fridge, kitchen and washroom were kept poorly. Overflowing garbage is a definite problem. Rooms were kept clean however the linen was smelly

Posted 25 Jul 2018 on HotelsIt has a currency exchange office across the street as well as many shops. If google maps takes you to it and you can’t find it. It’s there up stairs.

Place was under construction and the mattress was a bit thin, although it was a really good price. I was very pleased with the owner who helped me find a ride to Jerusalem since buses don't run all day Saturdays until late evening. The ride was half the price of what a taxi would have charged although only part I didn't like was that the person only took me to Jerusalem and not the old city which is where I wanted to go, so I walked about 30-35 minutes since I didn't want to pay another 70 shekels for another cab
