For your evening's entertainment while in Roquetas de Mar put the Teatro Auditorio on your list of must-do activities. This modern cultural hub presents operas, concerts, dance shows, musicals, stand-up comedy performances and shows for young children and families. It also serves as a venue for conferences and exhibitions.
The theater was built in 2004 and is a striking-looking contemporary structure. It has a huge glass façade and an auditorium with a capacity for 1,300 people. Purchase tickets in person at the ticket office which is open from Tuesday to Friday or online at the theater's official website. There you will also find an events calendar, details of upcoming shows and a list of the auditorium's facilities.
Enjoy pre-performance drinks and snacks in the Teatro Auditorio’s café. It doesn’t serve meals so if you prefer to eat something substantial visit one of the restaurants and bars that are within a short walking distance of the performance venue.
Take your seat in the auditorium for lights down and curtain up. If there are young children with you they can be left in the supervised kindergarten.
Learn more about the venue and how shows are put together and performed by going on a guided tour of the theater. These are held in July and August when there are no shows. Tours cover all the facilities and among the areas you will see are the dressing rooms, the rehearsal room and the wardrobe where costumes are kept. Note that the tours are conducted in Spanish only and have to be booked in advance at the town’s tourist office.
Teatro Auditorio is located close to the beach and the Grand Plaza Mall. Parking is available for a fee in the lots right outside the venue. Public transportation also serves the venue. There are bus stops in the plaza adjacent to the theater.
