A very clean and friendly hotel.
Vila gale Tavira is a very clean hotel, with wonderful staff who are very attentive in their role. The food was nice and I recommend this hotel. The only negative we had was the WiFi that was non existent and didn’t work at all!

Staff were fantastic. BUT. Very run down, needs a big refurb. I had a junior suite and The beds were horribly uncomfortable. I don’t know why but there was some kind of plastic sheeting under my bottom sheet on the bed, and the pillows were either hard as bricks or lumpy. Worse 4 nights sleep at a hotel, so would not go back.

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Tavira. Included breakfast buffet was ample and decent variety. Pool and courtyard were a lovely place to siesta in the late afternoon. I travelled with my daughter and her 11 month old and they were very, very friendly towards the baby. Check in and out were easy. Lots of little cafes in immediate area and east walk to touristy old town.

Check in was not what I would expect from a nice establish as your. Very rude lady checking us in and the gentleman she was working with was just as rude. If I hadn’t already paid for the room I would have walked away and found somewhere else to stay. Room was noisy and little ants in the bathroom not super bad but they were there.

The room was a reasonable size, clean and comfortable. Location is very good. Breakfast was OK. It was the usual buffet a reasonable selection of options. The staff were not great at keeping everything stocked and had to be advised when things ran out. The general ambience of the dining room was poor- a big room with rows of tables. No plants, no soft furnishings, not very relaxing.

Just misses the mark by alot
Rooms very dated. No USB charging. Reception explained the charges were all out and explained that I would have to purchase from a shop, that was closed. Pool table was super expensive for a guest. Towel process felt like I was treated like a criminal. Given I was told this was one of the best places in Tavira, i was not pleasantly surprised.

Good hotel with a lovely pool, 5 minutes walk from the town and boat dock to get the boat to the beach (15 mins away) Comfortable beds and very good choice of breakfast items. Lovely mini splash pool with slides, ideal for little ones.

We have been visiting Tavira for many years and have always stayed at Hotel Vila Gale. The hotel is extremely convenient to the centre. A great little cafe over the road and lovely local supermarkets nearby. The hotel is clean the breakfast plentiful and the staff very attentive.

Tavira is a very quiet area of the Algarve. This hotel is very convenient to the riverside and catching the quick ferry to the pretty island beaches. The hotel is between a 3.5 - 4 star, I’d say. They don’t have any staff to help w/your luggage. The ample buffet breakfast was nice!
