Decent but nothing special for the price...
Posted 15 Feb 2019 on HotelsQuiet location but a very long way from town and with steep hills. Although modernised, poorly equipped kitchen with minimum cookware and empty salt and pepper mills for instance..!! No toiletries whatsoever although the listing stated: "Free toiletries". Beds very hard but some like it that way... We have stayed in scores of baches over the years and feel this is definitely in the lower category.

We are sorry you did not find things to your liking at Bram's Bach. Before you book you can check the map on the listing which indicates the location, many of our guests enjoy the quietness and closeness to the lake with only a short drive to the town centre. The hill is only a small inclination (try living in Wellington!). The beds are commercial high end hotel grade beds which you will find in many hotels. We are sorry these were not to your satisfaction. We have had many positive comments on what a well stocked kitchen it is so once again sorry if there was not enough cookware for you in this 'Kiwi bach' and thank you for letting us know about the salt and pepper, we will get this removed.

Brilliant location. Quiet. Appeared safe. Close to the water. Self contained. Excellent cooking facilities.
Comfortable beds.
Great laundry facility with outdoor clothesline.
Good communication and easy access to property.

Brams Bach was great for our purpose. We just stayed over night but would be comfortable for a longer stay. We very much appreciated being able to arrive an hour earlier, so thank you for that.

The Brams Bach at Taupo is quite old. The bathroom taps are separated with hot and cold. Difficult to wash face and brush teeth as water was icy cold in the morning. Toiletries were not given except 2 small pieces of soap. Haha, did not bring any for the trip. Overall, it's sufficient for a budget one night stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed with your comments, however please note, Bram's Bach is a "Kiwi bach". Traditionally, "Kiwi baches" are not houses with all the up to date modern fittings. However, the kitchen is brand new with all modern conveniences & has been attracting rave reviews. Taupo is a very popular New Zealand holiday location, and like anywhere in New Zealand during winter, the water is cold in the morning. There was a basin plug in the bathroom where you could have filled the water to your desired temperature to wash your face. It is very clearly stated on the property listing that basic toiletries are provided. Our rates are extremely good value for money. In the future, if you are wanting more Hotel like accommodation, may I suggest that you increase your budget and stay at a Hotel and not stay at a traditional "Kiwi Bach".
