Too noisy, incompetent staff

Posted 27 Aug 2018
Cons: Too noisy location.
The staff made me waste a day of my holiday, because they told me there were no kitesurf courses and no trips to Tangier. There were courses, but not at their school. And there were boats too. Sometimes no toilet paper or toilet not working. Air conditioning was too low and the room damp, towels would not dry.

HI, sorry if something didn't like you. ªAccording to the kite school and theTanger trips, are not our companies, so they decide about their services. In that case, the condicitions were not safe. According with the air conditioner, as you know, rooms are shared, so maybe for you was too low, but 24 degrees we think is an standard temperature. Sorry about the paper and toilet. We are working to improve everyday! Thanks a lot for stay with us anyway!

My 2nd stay at Soluk, can’t wait for next year! (Now at my desk putting off actual work so here’s a Really detailed review): Facilities: Rather than the usual open bunks, waking up to full eye-contact with the guy lying 2 feet away from you, the beds in Soluk are built into the side of the room as individual cabins. Each bed has its own curtain, bedside table (shelf) and reading light so you can actally have some privacy. The hostel is clean, the bathroom and showers good. The Kitchen is tiny but laid our in a way that 2-3 people can easily use at one time. There isnt a big communal area bt everyone end up outside on the sofas anyway! Location: Soluk is perfectly located on the ocean-side of the old town, by the castle. Go straight out the door and you’re surrounded by cobbled streets filled with bars, clubs, restaurants and shops. Turn left out the door and you’re a 2 min walk to the ocean where you can kitesurf, chill at the beach bars, whale watch (best to go about 2hrs before sunset) and day trips to Morroco. You can organise kitesurf/surfing, SUP, whale watching, bike ride, rock climbing etc etc trips in the hostel. (Their recommended Kitesurf school, Pata Negra, is definitly one of the best in Tarifa so I’d recommend that too!) The one negative is non-refundable rooms. Hostels are usually/should be more flexible as they’re for travellers who have no money and keep changing plans, so heads up for that but I still 100% recommend Soluk!

Wet clothes

Great place, in the best part of the town. The only thing they need is a clothesline where we can properly dry our clothes. This should be a must have in a beach town. Apart from this, the place is really recommendable.
